Challenge
Studies show that crafting has many social, mental and physical benefits. However, picking up a new hobby can be intimidating and requires a lot of commitment to get started. The challenge was to develop a service that would encourage people to craft throughout adulthood to obtain all the benefits of creativity.
Solution
Knitwork is a monthly subscription service where subscribers will receive a box at their door with all the instructions and supplies needed to make a craft for that month. With the app, users can personalize their subscriptions to fit their interests or increase their subscriptions so they can craft with a friend. The app also promotes social crafting by allowing subscribers to share their work and connect with other crafters
A tutorial was used in the onboarding process, as the app is targeted at an older audience. This will ensure that there is no confusion about what icon does what.
